G's Surgery Report

So, I wanted to update everyone on my daughters' surgery.  Her surgery went great!  The Dr. was very happy with the outcome and was able to remove the entire cholesteatoma with one go.  He told us that 60-70% of cases need another round of surgery, so we were expecting that might be the case.  He also told us that the cholesteatoma was empty, the outer layer of cells was there, but the inner layer that is usually full of debris (from the sloughing of cells) was gone.  (I think that God, and the juicing & fasting helped cleanse that area, thank you Jesus for healing food!!)  He did end up rebuilding her ear drum and had to add the prosthesis, as the bone was too deteriorated.

Post-Op:  We went for the post-op on March 11th, and the Dr. removed the packing from her ear (that was holding everything in place as it healed).  He told her she might hear a little noise as he removed the packing.  He used a suction machine turned very low.  It was a gentle procedure, and we were able to watch the whole thing on the computer screen from his microscope.  Even G watched!  It was very interesting.  She said "It sounds like firecrackers in my ear!"  We were all very encouraged to hear her say that!  Then, the Dr. was so pleased he decided to go ahead and get her hearing tested that day.  She did very well.  He said the slight loss that showed up may improve.  He told us that the results of the test are very good for the prosthesis even if that was the end result, and this is just the first test, so he expects it to improve as the ear continues to heal.

We feel very blessed that the surgery went so well and that God really watched over her.  The results of the surgery couldn't be better.  She is healing very well, and happy to be off the fast!  We treated her to some organic hamburger, which she couldn't eat all of, but loved every bite!

Thank each of you for all your prayers!  God is so faithful!
Blessings, Rachel
